Arjuna's Hesitation Mirrors My Own

As Arjuna looked out upon the battlefield filled with his kinsmen, he was overcome with grief. Why did it have to come to this? For the sake of a kingdom and enjoyments, we would kill each other? He was, in fact, having a "meltdown" one interpreter said.

This is me now, like Arjuna, looking upon my life as a battlefield against my own. Experiencing a meltdown.

The last line of the first chapter says:

Arjuna sat down on the seat of his chariot, casting aside his bow and arrow, his mind agitated with grief.

Krishna cousels Arjuna to ‘seek refuge in the attitude of detachment' …

Reading these passages of the Bhagavadgita gave me a mirror through which I could see myself as Arjuna in that chariot consumed by overwhelming grief. Hesitating on the eve of battle. A battle I feel I cannot fight.

Krishna appears in my life, as several different teachers who have guided me through the years. The folk of God, I call them.

Al-hamdu li'Llah.

This Wasn't a Path I Chose...

The Way of Knowledge is my path; I never dreamed of any of the things I'm doing now; this wasn't a path I chose. More like propelled into. Al-hamdu li'Llah 🤓📚💕☕️

Seeing the 'wood for the trees'

In life, sometimes the little details can be more of a distraction than anything else, which leaves us overwhelmed. Unable to see the wood for the trees.
>>PAUSE<<
Realizing Divinity in the details is finding the Face of Unity in each individual, seemingly insignificant aspect of something, while keeping track of the entire process.

Walking through this protected forest was a way for me to remember His Face of Unity as a way to help unclutter my mind.

These Dreams

Spiritual life is a response to a call. Of our own accord we would never turn away from the world and begin the long and painful journey home. But Someone calls to us, calls to us from within the depths of our heart, awakening our own deeper longing. This call is like a golden thread that we follow, guiding us deeper and deeper within, always pointing to the beyond. It is both intimate and elusive, for it does not belong to the mind but to the deepest core of our being.

I have never defined dreams in the conventional sense, I have always known them to be something deeper, that pearl in the depths of the ocean.

The next few blogs will be about dreams that I have experienced...

This mermaid still mutters

Soulwork

Because far too many people are obsessed with "looking" beautiful and not enough attention is paid to "being" beautiful.

Where you spend your time reflects what is important to you...

Where you spend your time reflects what is important to you. It is never too late to take a closer look at how and where you spend or waste your time. I've just been reading a post from Lifehack:

http://www.lifehack.org/290992/20-time-management-hacks-wish-known-before-20s?dgs=1

The article lists 20 of the biggest time wasters, of which I am also guilty. But since I've been asked to blog professionally, I've had to learn to deal with that immense block of time I realized I was using to post pictures, quotes, you name it, I've probably done it.

From this experience, I don't think it's a matter of managing time, I actually think it's a matter of managing yourself.

Go sweep out the chamber of your heart.
Make it ready to be the dwelling place of the Beloved.
When you depart out,
He will enter it.
In you,
void of yourself,
will He display His beauties.
